Ben Jones Partner, Restructuring & Special Situations at Simmons & Simmons Ben specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency. His focus is on situations where businesses are distressed, providing strategic advice to boards and stakeholders. Ben is a partner in our Restructuring and Special Situations team in London. He is experienced in advising in situations where companies are, or are likely to become, subject to formal insolvency proceedings, undertaking contingency planning and providing strategic advice to stakeholders, most recently in the airline, real estate and infrastructure sectors. He also has extensive experience in refinancings and distressed M&A. Ben is named as a Leading Individual in Legal 500 and is a ranked lawyer in Chambers. Dustin Appel Senior Attorney at Bradley Dustin Appel's practice focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration, particularly in the energy sector. Drawing on his economics and accounting background, he often works with clients and experts regarding damages modeling and other financial aspects of litigation. Prior to law school, Dustin worked for several years in Russia and Central Asia in the freight forwarding industry providing logistics services to the energy and mining sectors. Dustin then entered public accounting, where he worked on audit and tax engagements for clients as varied as securities broker-dealers, construction contractors and heavy equipment lessors. He also has experience in industry accounting in the oilfield services sector. Dustin continues to maintain a license as a Certified Public Accountant. Following graduation from law school, Dustin served as a law clerk to the Hon. Barbara J. Houser, chief judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. From 2016 through 2019, he practiced with an international law firm in Dubai before returning to Houston, Texas in 2020.
