SPEAKERS

Izabella is a Partner in the Corporate Structuring team and specialises in corporate and commercial work, particularly in foreign investment regime, cross-border corporate and regulatory structure design and implementation, capital restructuring work and trust structures advice and assistance.

Izabella’s areas of practice also include economic substance, ultimate/ real beneficial ownership assessment and advice, business formation and corporate services under law of the Dubai International Financial Centre. Her expertise also extends to providing day-to-day legal advice on matters of corporate commercial nature to corporate clients, particularly family businesses, as well as M&A transactions assistance and equity capital markets. 

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, Izabella trained at Linklaters LLP and practiced at Clifford Chance LLP and White & Case LLP. She combines private practice and in-house experience, having acted as Head of Group Legal Department for a major UAE conglomerate, Al Rostamani Group.

Nima has over 7 years' experience advising on general corporate matters in the United States and the United Arab Emirates. He has particular expertise in matters related to estate planning and trust structures, in particular wills-related matters, for non-Muslim clients at DIFC. 

Nima also specialises on US Immigration laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company he was working for an immigration law firm in New York City for over 3 years and before that he was working for a general practice law firm in Dubai advising and attending clients in corporate matters as a whole, as well as all aspects of DIFC Wills and Probate. Nima also assisted the firm in representing clients in arbitration and litigation matters before DIFC courts. Nima is a Will practitioner on the DIFC Wills Draftsmen Register.

Dipali Maldonado is a Senior Counsel in the Private Client Services team at Al Tamimi & Company and has been ranked Band 1 in Chambers & Partners Private Wealth law for 3 years in a row. Dipali has also been shortlisted for the Wealth Management Lawyer of the Year in the Women in Business Law Awards 2023-EMEA and her team has won multiple awards, most recently the 9th Annual Wealth Briefing MENA Awards for exceptional “Legal advice provision for UHNW individuals, families or wealth managers”. She is a regular speaker at international conferences relating to private wealth, succession and estate planning in the MENA region, newspaper, radio & podcast contributor and has published a number of articles and chapters for the international legal and business community.  Dipali is also an active member of Al Tamimi and Company’s India Desk given her large NRI client base.

Dipali is a UAE and English qualified lawyer with over 18 years of experience and launched the Private Client Service practice at Al Tamimi & Company as she saw a gap in the MENA legal market where firms tend not to have a bespoke private client offering, despite the private wealth that resides in the region. As such, Al Tamimi’s Private Client Services department is unique in the regional legal landscape.

Dipali has extensive experience in advising family businesses, high profile and high net worth individuals and family offices on all aspects of their businesses; both local and international, contentious and non-contentious. Her practice is varied and ranges from advising on global asset acquisition and protection, estate and succession planning, structuring and maintaining investment transactions both within the Middle East and outside the region, family and inheritance disputes, personal status related matters, including inheritance, divorce (cross border and local) and settlement agreement, custody of children, alimony, pre-nuptial & post-nuptial agreements and wills & probate.  Dipali is fiercely passionate and loyal in finding creative, efficient and effective legal solutions for her clients resulting in her being a trusted adviser in addition to being a senior legal counsel.

Having been raised in a diplomatic environment, Dipali has a high level of cross-cultural competence in addition to her legal expertise, which family businesses, family offices and high net worth individuals operating in the increasingly globalized world of today find invaluable when traversing varying legal landscapes.
