About the Course
Launched in 2022, the Aurifer GCC Tax Certificate is the first executive programme on taxation in the Gulf region.
Developed and endorsed by qualified professionals and academics in the field, this unique programme offers a comprehensive overview of tax systems in the GCC countries and the UAE in particular.
The Certificate delves into the essentials of direct and indirect taxation in GCC countries, such as Corporate Tax and VAT.It also features modules on International Tax, Pillar Two, and Transfer Pricing with a specific focus on their practical application in the tax systems of the GCC countries and the UAE. The programme also includes specialised topics designed to meet the needs of aspiring and current tax advisors in the region.
For the 2026 edition, the programme will begin with a keynote conference on 3 October 2026, setting the stage for two months (October and November 2026) of immersive learning.
Sessions will be delivered on Saturdays, with a morning lecture and afternoon case study totalling 6 hours per teaching day. This revised format places stronger emphasis on practical learning, with case studies complementing the technical content.
Led by Thomas Vanhee (Aurifer) and Dr Pallavi Kishore (Middlesex University Dubai) the programme boasts a faculty comprising experts from leading law and accounting firms across the Gulf and internationally. This ensures a learning experience that blends academic excellence with real-world insights.
What do you gain?
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate from Middlesex University Dubai.
The programme is academically accredited and provides university credits, which may be recognised towards further academic qualifications, subject to university regulations.
The course is also intended to be accredited for Continuing Legal Professional Development (CLPD) by the Dubai Legal Affairs Department (DLAD).

Eligible candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, accounting, or business, and a strong command of English. Alternatively, applicants without a degree but with 1 to 4 years of proven experience in the tax field are also encouraged to apply.
