About the Programme
The Chartered Market Technician (CMT) Level I Examination tests foundational knowledge of technical analysis — its terminology, frameworks, and analytical tools. The examination is two hours in duration and comprises 132 multiple-choice questions.
This preparatory program is offered as a joint initiative of K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) and DIFC Academy, under the official recognition of the CMT Association (USA). KJSIM is the first and only CMT Association–approved Participating Prep Provider in India. The program covers every concept tested in the CMT Level I examination across 50 hours of structured
instruction, ensuring candidates are thoroughly prepared to sit and pass the exam.
The program follows a hybrid delivery format: the majority of instruction is delivered via a interactive live online sessions, complemented by 3 days of in-person sessions held at DIFC Academy in Dubai. This structure combines the flexibility of online learning with the depth and networking value of face-to-face instruction in one of the world’s premier financial centers.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a joint certificate issued by both KJSIM and DIFC Academy, bearing the official CMT Association Prep Provider logo - a credential recognised globally across financial markets.

In-Person Sessions at DIFC ACademy, DIFC Dubai — 3 Days
The programme includes 3 days of in-person instruction held at DIFC Academy in Dubai. These sessions are designed to:

Program Director
Dr Hitesh Punjabi, CMT
Dr Hitesh Punjabi is a Finance Professor at K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai, bringing over 15 years of combined industry and academic experience to the program. He holds an MBA in Finance, a B.E. in Chemical Engineering, and is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). He is also a Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) -registered Analyst. His industry career spans equity research roles at Anand Rathi Securities, Religare Securities, and HSBC Invest Direct — providing him with deep, practitioner-level grounding in the markets he teaches. In academia, Dr. Punjabi teaches, conducts original research, and leads faculty and management development programs. He has chaired international conferences, published peer-reviewed research, and mentored early-stage startups at the Atal Incubation Centre.
