In May 2025, the UAE launched its National Strategy for Islamic Finance, Halal Industry and Islamic Philanthropy, setting aspiring targets to be achieved by 2031, including: Doubling UAE Islamic banking assets to AED 2.56 trillion; Increasing domestic Sukuk issuance to AED 660 billion; Raise foreign sukuk listing at UAE bourses to AED 395billion; Expanding local asset and wealth management size to AED 263 billion; Growing Halal exports to AED 315 billion; and Enhancing Islamic philanthropy to AED 247 billion.
This strategy positions the UAE as a global hub for Islamic finance, Halal industry, and philanthropy, with the Central Bank leading implementation in collaboration with key stakeholders.
To ensure alignment with the National Strategy, the DIFC Academy is introducing a series of capacity-building initiatives. These will enhance understanding of Islamic finance within our community and drive opportunities for DIFC-based banks, asset managers, law firms, consultancies, and service providers.
