Despite the substantial attention to global value chains in recent years, there are still a few fundamental misconceptions that can lead to questionable policies and misguided strategies for global supply chains.

Professor Kasra Ferdows, Heisley Chair Professor of Global Manufacturing at Georgetown University, will present his research on answering the following questions:
1. Where in the world is most manufacturing currently done?
2. Where are the multinational companies building their new factories?
3. What have been the consequences of the recent drive to reshoring and “friend-shoring”?
