ALEXANDRA LESTER

Alex is a Legal Director in the Dubai office of Clyde & Co's international dispute resolution team. She assists clients to resolve complex commercial disputes arising across a range of sectors with a particular specialism in technology, media, and telecommunications disputes, as well as property, hotels, leisure, and healthcare. Alex's experience includes representing clients at every stage of dispute resolution proceedings including in the DIFC Courts, local UAE Courts, English Courts, arbitration (under the DIFC-LCIA, ADCCAC, ICC and LCIA rules), negotiation and mediation. Alex also regularly advises on commercial and contractual issues arising in day-to-day business operations, such as managing project delay, late payment, agency disputes, and contract terminations.

Alex is a Solicitor of England and Wales and a registered practitioner before the DIFC Courts.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Alex worked at IBM UK Limited for 5 years as a Commercial Manager, and so has first-hand experience of commercial disputes from a client perspective. She has also undertaken secondments to the legal departments of retail and banking clients.

NICOLA JACKSON

Nicola is a Legal Director in Clyde & Co’s Dispute Resolution Group and is based in Dubai. She has been in the region since 2010 and has extensive experience acting on commercial and financial disputes before courts and tribunals in the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Nicola advises both local and international clients on commercial and financial disputes before courts and tribunals in the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia. In particular, Nicola specialises in banking disputes and is acting on a number of high-profile cases before the DIFC Courts. Nicola has acted for the Central Bank of Bahrain in her previous firm's capacity as external administrator of The International Banking Corporation and advised on a wide range of litigation across various jurisdictions, including claims for fraud and breach of contract. Nicola has acted for clients in international arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA and GCCCAC Rules and the Oman Arbitration Act, with a particular focus on arbitrations involving parties from or with interests in the Middle East.

Jackie is an associate in the Insurance and International Trade and Transportation Dispute

Resolution teams in Clyde & Co‘s Dubai office. She joined the firm in 2018 after completing her

training contract in Clyde & Co's Dubai and London offices. Her experience includes advising and defending re/insurers and their insureds on coverage and liability issues across a range of business lines such as cyber, medical malpractice, financial services and marine insurance. Jackie also works with the International Trade & Transportation disputes team, advising and assisting with disputes and regulatory queries with a marine focus for regional and international clients.
