DIFC Academy in collaboration with Emirates Youth Professional School (EYPS) and SOL International proudly presents this webinar that will provide the youth of the UAE practical and useful insights into the basics of dispute resolution and help them to understand public v private ways of resolving disputes.

This is a webinar session presenting the basics of arbitration and litigation which will benefit non lawyers to have an understanding that in the event of a dispute, which dispute resolution method is best suited for them. Given the UAE is firmly placed as a hub and leader in the region and is increasingly attracting international clients to its Courts and arbitration centres, the Emirati Youth are well placed to further initiatives and the first step is to help them to understand.

Sarah Malik

CEO & Founder | SOL International

Sarah Malik is an experienced and well-regarded lawyer whose 21-year career to date has spanned internationally. Prior to founding SOL International Ltd in the UAE in August 2018, she practiced as a Barrister at a leading set of Chambers in London, worked as employed Counsel at a prominent UK law firm and headed the Advocacy and Investigations team of an International law firm in Dubai. She is a member of the SIAC Users Council in the Middle East and is appointed on the Lagos Panel of Arbitration Neutrals. Sarah is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and accepts appointments to sit as an arbitrator. 

In addition to practice, she is appointed as a visiting lecturer on the LLM programme at Middlesex University, Dubai, in International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration. Sarah is regularly invited to speak at conferences within the UAE, GCC and internationally.
